About Noor Boustani

Hi, I am Noor Boustani. I am a first-year student at New York University. I am currently studying on the Study Away Campus located in Washington D.C. under the Liberal Studies Core Program. I expect to transition into the College of Arts and Science, where I will be majoring in Politics and minoring in Psychology.

Before coming to Washington D.C., I moved between several cities as a kid, which meant constantly stepping into new environments. That experience helped me discover how to build strong connections quickly and adapt to change with confidence. I also grew up with parents who immigrated from Lebanon. Their story taught me the importance of staying focused and grateful, especially when facing challenges. Those lessons influenced the way I approach education and how I show up for people around me.

In high school, I gravitated toward activities where I could learn from others and take initiative. I was a student director in my choir, a section leader in my marching band, and a competitor in Varsity swimming and mock trial. Those experiences taught me how to lead with respect, collaborate effectively, and think through problems with a clear sense of purpose.

At NYU, I’m continuing to grow in new ways. My studies focus on the intersection of policy, humanities, and community impact. I’ve also gained hands-on experience through internships, including my current job as Co Director of the Forum at NYU Washington D.C., that have shown me how systems and people influence each other. I’m especially interested in what motivates individuals, how ideas spread, and how good leadership can create meaningful change.

Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring the city, discovering new music, and developing meaningful relationships with both my peers and on-site faculty. My goal is to stay curious and keep learning from each experience, whether it’s in a classroom, internship, or conversation.
